The name of this format takes inspiration from the “golden room” on the third floor of 9 French Place, BeAdvisors’s exhibition venue in Shoreditch, where each event of Golden Shower will take place. Moreover, it refers to the Champagne Breakfast which will be the kick-off event of every show. Golden Shower also inevitably plays on the sexual connotation and the mythological references deeply rooted in our culture about the personification of the beauty over the centuries, starting from the myth of Zeus who transformed himself into golden rain to lie with Danae. The title “Golden Shower” is then a metaphor for the artist who exchanges the beauty of their works for money, an irreverent way to present a new exhibition project that takes on all the cultural stratification, both courtly and prosaic, in order to produce value from passion.
